CE Marking for Lifts – 95/16/EC

The 95/16/EC Directive is made for all the lifts that are installed in buildings and constructions. Applied to certain safety components for lifts that are listed in Annex IV. It was first came into existence in Italy by the Italian Presidential Decree of April 30, 1999.

This Directive covers the inspection to put into service and their periodic audits. The main aim is to lower trade barriers among the member states and maintaining health and safety requirements at a greater level.

This Directive covers both the safety components and lifts covering the manufacturing and installation of the lifts. This directive is applied to the manufacturers and installers of lifts. The installation of the lift includes affixing of CE Marking in the car of each lift, drawing up an EC declaration of conformity.
